Versi-Foam® is available in Closed and Open Cell formulas that contain additional flame retardants. These formulas are classified as Class I in accordance with ASTM E-84. The Versi-Foam® closed cell Class I formula has a 20 Flame Spread and a 160 Smoke Developed Rating.  The Versi-Foam® open cell Class I formula has a 20 Flame Spread and a 250 Smoke Developed Rating. This means that the foam is flame resistant, not fire proof. These systems are suitable for use in inhabited buildings, including residential applications or any applications in which flammability is a concern.

Closed Cell

The Versi-Foam® Closed Cell Class I systems have a density of approximately 2 pounds per cubic foot. They are 97% closed cell and have an R-value of 7 per inch. The foam insulation has an expansion rate of six times its original volume and is tack free in 30 to 45 seconds and is available in the Versi-Foam® System I, 15, and 50 Class I.

The Versi-Foam® System I Class I is the smallest of the Versi-Foam® product line. It is packaged as two aerosol cans in a plastic carriage contained in a fiberboard box.  It includes a thumb-roll mechanized dispenser. The Versi-Foam® System I Class I wil produce 12 square feet of cured foam at 1" thickness, or one cubic foot.  This kit is designed to be used on the same day that it is opened.

The Versi-Foam® System 15 Class I is the medium size foam kit in the Versi-Foam® product line. The Versi-Foam® System 15 Class I is packaged in one carton weighing 40 pounds and includes the two chemical components, the patented U-Control gun attached to two 10 foot hoses, ten extended mixing nozzles, three fan tips, and nitrile gloves. The Versi-Foam® System 15 Class I will produce198 square feet of cured foam at a 1" thickness, or 16.5 cubic feet.

The Versi-Foam® System 50 Class I is the largest size foam kit in the Versi-Foam® product line.  The Versi-Foam® System 50 Class I is packaged in two cartons, each weighing approximately 60 pounds. The system is complete with the two chemical components, our patented U-Control dispensing gun attached to two 15 foot hoses, ten extended mixing nozzles, three fan tips, and nitrile gloves. The Versi-Foam® System 50 Class I will produce 600 square feet of cured foam at a 1" thickness, or 50 cubic feet.

The Versi-Foam® Class I formula is also available in constant pressure systems where a consistent spray pattern is needed from start to finish. The Versi-Foam® Hy-Flo 350 and 700 can spray an even 14 ½" wide pattern at 1" thick. They are the perfect solution for the highly efficient hybrid insulation system or air sealing projects where 1" of foam is required.

The Versi-Foam® Hy-Flo 350 consists of one set of A and B tanks partially filled and more heavily pressurized. Each carton weighs approximately 34 pounds. The system is complete with two chemical components, our patented U-Control dispensing gun attached to two 20 foot hoses. The Versi-Foam® Hy-Flo 350 will produce 350 square feet of cured foam at a 1" thickness.

The Versi-Foam® Hy-Flo 700 consists of two sets of A and B tanks partially filled and more heavily pressurized. It is packaged in four cartons; each carton weighing approximately 34 pounds. The system is complete with the two chemical components, our patented U-Control dispensing gun attached to two 20 foot hoses, 12 flash spray nozzles, 3 multi-purpose mixing nozzles, and nitrile gloves. The Versi-Foam® Hy-Flo 700 will produce 700 square feet of cured foam at 1" thickness.

Open Cell

The Versi-Foam® Open Cell System has a density of approxiametly 0.75 pounds per cubic foot. It is 92% open cell and has an R-value of 4 per inch, lower than the other Versi-Foam® systems, but still superior to some of the other commonly used insulation materials.  The foam insulation is tack free in 30 to 45 seconds and is available in the Versi-Foam® System 100 Open Cell. The appeal of this low density, open cell is its high expansion rate. Less foam is needed during application which make it more cost effective.  This system is best suited for residential roof deck applications (unvented attics, cathedral ceilings, and garage roofs).  Some areas of the country (particularly Southern Regions) require open cell foam sprayed along the underside of the roof deck.  In the presence of moisture, open cell foam will dissipate the moisture quicker than closed cell foam.

The Versi-Foam® System 100 Open Cell is also well suited for exterior wall applicatons where one inch of closed cell foam is applied to the exterior sheathing and then filled with open cell foam.  Please note that a vapor retardent would be required on the warm side of the building envelope when installing closed cell foam in conjunction wth open cell foam due to the open cell content.

The Versi-Foam® System 100 Open Cell is the largest size foam kit in the Versi-Foam® product line  The Versi-Foam® System 100 Open Cell is packaged in two cartons each weighing appoximately 60 pounds. The system is complete with the two chemical components, our patented U-Control dispensing gun attached to two 15 foot hoses, ten extended mixing nozzles, three fan tips, and nitrile gloves. The Versi-Foam® System 100 Open Cell will produce 1,000 square feet of cured foam at a 1" thickness, or 100 cubic feet.

The medium and large size systems can be shut down and used on another day. However, it is very strongly recommended that the systems are used at least once every seven days.

The published yields for the Versi-Foam® Class I Systems are theoretical and vary based on several factors, including ambient conditions and specific application.
